Submissions

The official language of the conference and the papers is English. All submissions are peer-reviewed, and the accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings indexed in SCOPUS. Submissions will be double reviewed. After notification of acceptance, authors are invited to prepare the full version of their work using the corresponding template and submit it using the web submission platform above.

There are four types of submission: abstract only, full paper, students’ paper and workshop/hands-on session.

Template for Paper and Template for Workshop / Hands-on Sessions

First Stage of Submission (check the important dates)

Abstract submission: Regardless of the submission type, in the first stage, contributors are invited to submit an abstract of 300 words using the web submission platform. Review of abstracts will be based on the potential quality of the submission to the conference.

Second Stage of Submission (check the important dates)

Paper submission: In the case of papers, the full version should have 6 to 8 pages (Microsoft Word file). We suggest you download and save the required template and copy your text to preserve the adopted styles and other formatting elements. Accepted contributions will be invited to make a presentation at the symposium.

Workshops/hands-on submission: Potential contributors are invited to submit a proposal for either a workshop or a hands-on session. You must register on the web platform (Easy Chair) to submit the workshop/hands-on proposal, choosing the “Workshop/hands-on” option. The workshop or hands-on session proposals are expected to be three pages maximum.

Students’ award: PAEE/ALE’2025 particularly welcomes contributions from students (Undergraduate, Master and PhD). Students must use the paper template to develop their proposal. The Student Best Paper Award is an opportunity to share with the Engineering Education community all the great projects being currently developed by students. Furthermore, students have a chance to share their ideas, show their work developed at the university, get to know people from all over the world, and learn from each other.

Some general rules and guidelines to participate in the Best Paper Award:

  • Teachers/supervisors could be registered as co-authors (not first authors).
  • Papers must be presented by students (presentations performed by non-students will not be accepted for the award but can be considered for a regular session);
  • The winners will be announced in the closing session.
